CFC First Update: Decks & More

New version 0.5.0 comes bundled with 39 decks from SNK Playmore’s video game SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters’ Clash 2 Expand Edition. Enemy decks are the decks used by the game characters in Story Mode (easy) and Free Battle Mode (hard). Secret decks are decks found in the ROM but that are not used anywhere in the video game (sort of easter eggs).

Second big change for this update: Character cards no longer have negative SP value. After getting valuable feedback from some players, we realized that negative SP cost for character cards can slowdown the game and can even block players if they only draw those cards. So almost all character cards have been reviewed and their SP upgraded.

Card Fighters’ Clash on OCTGN

Character, Action and Reaction cardsCard Fighters’ Clash is a card game for two players based on SNK Playmore’s video game SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters’ Clash 2 Expand Edition. Players try to defeat each other in a battle playing powerful characters based on Capcom and SNK Playmore video games. Characters have unique abilities that can dramatically change the course of the game, and the character’s KI energy is manifested in the form of Soul Points, which can be used to attack the opponent or to play Action cards and Reaction cards –they add exciting effects to the battle that can be played even in opponent’s turn.

All sets up to and including 23 seconds are now rezzed

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of updates. I’m not dead or anything, but two things contributed to this hiatus. One is that almost all ANR players on OCTGN migrated almost overnight to jinteki.net. I don’t mind, that site is some seriously good coding. At the same time I kinda lost interest in ANR personally and I haven’t actually played since Data and Destiny, plus I prefered actually the OCTGN speed and community so I wasn’t motivated enough to play online either. Finally, my time was all-consumed by my work on Doomtown:Reloaded, to the point where I reached a burn-out phase with OCTGN, so I decided to take it easy and refill by batteries, so to speak.

This meant that I procrastinated long and hard with netrunner, but I honestly didn’t feel like it was hurting anyone since there was something like 5 people still playing on OCTGN still. Hell, until now nobody even bothered to ask for it.

Anyway, I’ve found some time and motivation to add the new sets, up to 23 seconds, but I didn’t bother scripting the cards this time. The effort to reward ratio is non-existent at the moment for me, and I feel like it would be a complete waste to put hours of coding into something nobody is likely to bother with anymore. 🙁

Still, if anyone is still out there, you can at least load your new cards and use them manually now.

My Little Pony CCG: Colour feature with minor fixes Now Live 2.2.7.1

Patch Notes 2.2.7.1

Changes

  • New Colour feature which allows you to add colours to cards (Will explain more below)
  • Fixed the issue of error codes appearing if you close the Token selection menu
  • Added the secret #00 card from Marks in Time

With the Colour feature, you can add a colour highlight onto your cards. It is useful for cards like Kevin which require the player to pick a colour. In order to access it, just right click the card you wish to apply the colour to and hover over the “Colours” tab. You would be able to pick any of the mane 6 colours or remove the colour on the card.

Do note that this feature will only give a card a single colour so cards that can be two colours at once like Queen Chrysalis, Changeling Pretender will only be able to represent one colour. I’ll be working on improving this feature with coloured counters instead of highlights in the future.

Unforgiven is now available on OCTGN

What I’ve felt
What I’ve known
Never shined through in what I’ve shown

Won’t see what might have been
What I’ve felt
What I’ve known
Never shined through in what I’ve shown
Never free
Never me
So I dub thee unforgiven

Yup.
So i updated a few hours ago but didn’t post anything here.
Now it’s done.

Jungles of Nectavus is now available on OCTGN

Ok Boyz, sorry that it took me so much time, kinda busy these days…

So the new deep strike mechanic is here, simply double clic on cards you want to put into reserve (like you would to play them), and double click on card in reserve to deep strike them. See, easy as pie !

The next pack is almost ready, so it should be up the day it is officially released.

My drive with the censored image pack as always

MTG 3.3.2 Update – Autoscript Re-write

Hey everyone, I have done a big rewrite on the autoscript engine to make the code easier to maintain.  It shouldn’t really have much of a noticeable impact on gameplay, but if anyone notices any new error messages, bugs, weird/incorrect messages in the chat log, or gameplay issues, please report them to me either via the issue tracker (http://www.github.com/brine/mtg-octgn/issues) or ping me in the OCTGN chat and I’ll see it.

Also, the Madness mechanic should work properly now 🙂
