I haven’t abandoned you, but since I’ve coded all expansions since Aug, there’s been little to speak of. Nevertheless, I’ve just pushed a bug fixin’ version for some of the things people have reported.
- Brain Chip will now give correct MU
- Cerebral Imaging will now give correct Hand Size
- Genetics Pavilion will only work while face up
- Clot shouldn’t warn the corp from the peddler
- Heartbit will now provide its MU
- Assassin’s second traced should work now
- Charman Hiro not active when scored
- Corporate Town fixed in multiple ways
- Film Critic won’t activate while in the peddler
- Independent Thinking will now announce the correct amount of cards drawn.
- Off Campus Apartment won’t give an error instead of announcing its effect.
Dirty Deeds is now live in OCTGN. As always almost everything automated.
- Xiang Fang: Target deed before you play her
- Karl Odett: You can use him to add his influence quick
- BUford Hurley: Target the deed and use.
- MAZA Gang: Use to put extra prod.
- Rabbit takes revenge: Only Pulls
Wrath of the Righteous is finally all available in OCTGN, and the last two chapters have some really fun, crazy mechanics in them! I don’t want to spoil anything, but you’ll find a fun bonus at the very end of the last chapter…
One major recent update was the addition of the ability to build a new location. You can now right-click on the board, choose “Build Location”, then type in the name of the location, and it will be built (without any associated villain or henchmen.. you’ve got to go get those manually!) If you type the name incorrectly, you’ll get an error, nothing will be built, and you can try again. Please let me know if you see any issues with this new functionality!
Now that this is all in there, and we’ve got a few months to wait for Mummy’s Mask, I’m going to try to get more of the Class Deck information added in, as well as more Organized Play scenarios. Please let me know if you find any errors in the normal adventure path, though, so that I can get those fixed!
Back in 2013 and shortly after the release of Premiere, I set out to do a plug-in for the MLP CCG. Primarily because I found the game interesting and I wanted to make sure people buying the game had the opportunity and tools to playtest and enjoy playing it. The fandom that makes up the core audience for this game is and always has been in large part an internet community, and one that is quite diverse geographically. Some players live in places with numerous others to playtest with, while some live in places without much in the way of a “herd” nearby.
It’s a couple years later with an explosion of new sets and cards flowing out there and the tournament scene ratcheting ever upwards, I find that I don’t have the time to keep managing things like I once did. The last couple patches have mostly been the work of a group of players who have the time and capability to keep this game up-to-date and provide timely patches. I think they’ve done an excellent job, and have asked them to take it from here.
I hope that whatever contribution I’ve made is one that has brought some measure of fun and happiness to people, and has brought friends the ability to play and better enjoy a great game together. I wish everybody the best of luck.
PS: There have been some questions regarding the Ponyhead-to-OCTGN converter and newer sets. This was a side-project I’d built that took advantage of the way the set files were being generated for the plug-in itself – a process that still required a good bit of manual effort initially to get new sets loaded. The new guys have built their own process for better automating the creation of new set files, which sadly means the converter that exists today will no longer receive updates. Perhaps somebody can pick up where this leaves off.
I’ve been a bit delayed in releasing Across the Ettenmoors, the other day we went to the Puzzle Works escape rooms and we had a great time and the interactive room was pretty exciting… so to make up for it, I give you FOUR new releases! Across the Ettenmoors is now available, as is the newly released Treachery of Rhudaur. With these new APs, we’re already well past the halfway point in the Angmar Awakened Cycle.
Furthermore, I’ve finally added the Nightmare decks for the first Saga box The Black Riders. I have been a bit behind on my nightmare pack purchases, so I apologize for the delay there. I hope to get the Voice of Isengard Nightmare Decks out before too long. The best mobile games you can find for Android can be find at redmoonpie.com, you can download the latest android/ios games mods..
And last but not least, Ian Martin from the awesome blog Tales From the Cards, include in your games Fortnite Hack & Cheats, has graced us with the second custom AP in his Doom Mastered Cycle — which is the cycle built off of his epic First Age custom deluxe expansion! Be sure to re-download and install the Custom.o8c Image Pack to get his shiny cards. Mu Origin gift codes for starters that may look to enjoy March release
EDIT: Added bonus! You can now download the Image Pack for The Lost Realm. Get it while it’s hot!
Various bug-fixes are included in this update.
Majority of the commonly used cards in set 35 format have been automated.
New set additions beyond DM-35 are not yet planned for the near future, due to unavailability of databases and card images in English. Expect to see new set releases after a few months. Any assistance is welcome.
I have pushed out a small update, adding the proper card text for Battle For Zendikar, and included the Expedition lands. The low-res image pack was updated as well.
The most recent minor version update adds the pre-release version of Battle for Zendikar. Thanks to T-A-B for submitting the set spoiler data and the image pack! The Image Pack is included in the downloads section.
A later update will include the proper Gatherer release of Battle for Zendikar, with additional enhancements to the game plugin.
I’ve successfully added the Chapter 4 cards to OCTGN! All of the scenarios should work correctly.
I’ve also fixed the Promo scenario “The Land of the Blind” so that it correctly deals with the Gholdako henchmen. To win the scenario, you have to find all six Gholdakos and set them out on the table anywhere (don’t put them in one of the current card piles!) Then, at the beginning of the next turn, the game will count the Gholdakos on the board and if there are six, you win!
Finally, there are also now decks available for both Ekkie, the promo goblin character, and Arueshalae, the new character found in chapter 3. Arueshalae’s deck is not complete at all, so you’ll need to go into the Deck Editor and add cards to her deck before you actually use her.
Let me know if you see any issues, guys!
We will be migrating the OCTGN game directory to its new hosting site starting today, which could take some time to set everything up. All game Admins, please make sure that any URLS pointing to pages within this blog, both internally and from other web locations, use the www.octgngames.com URL.
