Version 220.127.116.11 is up and contains more automation of channeling on familiars and conjurations. All variations should be automated. A few code fixes were added too.
Also my partner in crime “sIKE” has done an AMAZING job of entering card data. This builds a platform for more features in the time to come. Right now you can use it in the deck builder to find that card you just can’t remember the name of, but you know it had the word “xxx” in the text. Almost everything can be searched now.
As soon as someone implements dice rolling in a computerized version of a game, someone else is bound to question the validity of the randomness of the rolls. Fortunately there are some people on the internet that take randomness very serious and have created a service via www.random.org that uses static from the atmosphere to generate random numbers (no – Air Wizards do not affect the outcome during play). This service has now been implemented in the Mage Wars OCTGN module version 18.104.22.168. Remember that true randomness also includes clusters of repeating numbers so if you roll a lot of blanks don’t blame me – take it up with the dice gods.
A few other improvement have been added. Dice rolling is generally faster and automated reset of the tokens Ready/used, Deflect & Voltaric Shield are working.
Get busy rolling those dice.
Per suggestion of sIKE, the promos have been added to Mage Wars in release 22.214.171.124
All cards mentioned here: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/992092/current-promo-list are included. Images were hard to come by so the quality is not perfect. For a short time the images are included in the update. Just restart OCTGN after the update to have the images installed. Failing that the image pack includes the promo cards too now.
The Deck builder plugin included in the game feed now exports the deck in text format to the clipboard for easy sharing on forums etc. It looks like this:
As the Mage Wars module has been annoying the LotR crowd, another release was necessary. Basically a lot of images have been shifted around behind the curtain.
If you experience any missing images go and download the image pack again – Sorry about any inconvenience. This is needed if you didn’t get the kumanjaro update yesterday.
Seeing double images? A bug in OCTGN requires you to uninstall Mage Wars and then reinstall it to clear out the cobwebs this time.
Dare I say it? This should be the last time you need to download the card images though until the next expansion comes along.
Other fixes in this release include
– In game validator fix (miscounting “or” type cards)
– Redundant card from Conquest of Kumanjaro removed
Version 1.2 of Mage Wars is up and includes conquest of Kumanjaro cards (all 26 were spoiled online)
In addition a missing card was added (Fog Bank) and a few typo’s corrected.
Remember to download the image pack (now one large archive for all sets)
Due to a distinct lack of randomness of the random numbers of images in Mage Wars, the module was not available since yesterday. Now in version 1.1 everything has been renumbered and we’re back in business.
When you game updates you also need to re-download the image packs as everything has changed. Unfortunately your home built decks will no longer work. Sorry about that. The sample decks have been updated though.
Also included in the game file is the new deck builder plugin.
Counting spellbook points in Mage Wars can take some time and is error prone. Doing it using the OCTGN Deck Builder is even harder.
To help you with the math, the OCTGN Mage Wars module now features a plugin for the deck builder. Hurry over to the updated Install page and check it out.
As you may have noticed version 126.96.36.199 of the Mage Wars module has just been released.
While most updates are seamless in OCTGN game modules, occasionally something breaks. In this update all beastmaster decks become invalid as the beastmaster wasn’t happy with his assigned GUID.
If you have made a super beastmaster deck and want to use it after the update open the deck file (*.08d) in your favorite text editor and search for the numbers 6473. Then replace with 6472. Save and the deck now works again.
To have the Beastmaster image displayed re-download the core image pack (Follow instructions here)
The day was very productive so the first version of the module is available now. Click on INSTALL and follow the instructions.
