1. Download & Install the OCTGN client from here (Windows only...for now 😉 )
  2. Open OCTGN and register an account or login with an existing one.
  3. Go to the game manager tab and click the “Add” button. In the window that will open type:
    Name: OCTGN Directory
    Feed URL/Path:
and press “Add”. A new feed should appear on the left.
  4. Click on the “OCTGN Directory” Feed. On the right a list of games should appear. Android:Netrunner should be on the top
  5. Click on Android:Netrunner and click “Install”. After a short wait it should finish.
  6. You are now ready to play. The game will automatically generate proxy cards to use, so you don’t need to download anything else.

(Optional) If you want, you can have card art, instead of proxies

  1. Go here and download all the card packs (.o8c) you find. Anything that says “(Censored)” includes cards where the card text has been blurred out.
  2. In OCTGN, go to game manager and click on “Add Image Packs”
  3. Select the .o8c files you download them one by one and install them. You will see a install window and once each pack is installed, you’ll see a pop-up window confirming this. This should take a few seconds at most.
  4. Done! Your sets now contain card art.

(Recommendedl) In case you’re a new player, grab the rulebook from here (pdf) and watch the Tutorials.

The game contains the core set starter decks. Once you get comfortable with the game, you can use’s deck editor to make your own decks and export them in OCTGN format. You can also use the OCTGN built-in deck editor, but frankly the cardgamedb is much better for it.

  1. Interesting, yesterday when I was reinstalling OCTGN, the small /f/ did not load any, but the /F/ one did. so probably some temporary issue, because now as I tried it, both worked well.

  2. Im having this recurrent problem of when loading OCTGN receiving the message that there was an error migrating files and clearing old installers. Then i cant load decks to play. I deinstalled and reinstalled OCTGN and it started working again. Then I downloaded censored card image files from the AN OCTGN site and the problem reappeared again. Does anyboby knows what to do? Thanks!

  3. Just a heads up: the “Game Manager” menu updated the “Add o8c” button. It now reads “Add Image Packs.” If you could update the card art tutorial, it might save newcomers a few seconds of confusion.

Thanks for the helpful tutorial. I’m really jazzed to play.

  4. Is there a way for me to manually download the ANR module and install it to the OCTGN directory in my computer? I always get an error when installing it within OCTGN. Thanks!

    • If you’re having an error you should report it to the OCTGN developers along with the logs you’ll find in documents/octgn/octgn/logs and they should be able to help

  5. I downloaded the set files, but they are zip files that OCTGN can’t see when asked to add image packs. It’s looking for .o8c files and they are no where to be found in the downloads offered on this page. Since they are zip files, I extracted them, but still no .o8c can be found, just folders upon folders and the .jpg files for each of the cards. How frustrating! Especially when the installation instructions are so inadequate!

    • Don’t use internet explorer to download (in fact, don’t use IE at all). Use firefox or chrome and they’ll download correctly.

  6. Hey tried to re-install OCTGN but whenever I install it the “OCTGN Setup: Installation Options” keeps appearing, even after installing the program. When the program should load it instead takes me back to the OCTGN installation options window. Tried to uninstall and delete all files but that has not worked. Is there anything else I can do? Am using Chrome.

    • in OCTGN. Read the guide again:

      3. Go to the game manager tab and click the “Add” button. In the window that will open type:

  7. Hey Dbzer0, thanks for the plug-in and all your hard work! It’s appreciated by many, including myself. If you see me on OCTGN, hit me for a game, I could use the learning experience (since I know you are likely better than me).
